On Saturday, September 30, 20 Verrado Rotarians and friends gathered to participate in a meal packing event held at Summit Community Church.  Together with 130 other volunteers, in the space of about 2 hours, we packed approximately 32,000 meals for the Feed My Starving Children program to be distributed around the world.  In addition to volunteers, the Rotary Club of Verrado was a $1,000 sponsor of this event.   The food we packed is called Manna Pack Rice.   While all work is done by volunteers, food packing is done under approved food handling standards which are FDA approved.  Here is a description of the Manna Rice Pack, from the FMSC website.
